For the last 14 years, I have worked hard on the City Council to
make Hayward a great place to establish a home, raise a 
family and do business.

I have focused on public safety. I sponsored measures to reduce graffiti
and improve emergency communications. Crime and emergency 
response time have been reduced.

 I have worked to build new housing that middle income families can
afford, supported the city program assisting mobile homeowners make
needed repairs, sought environmentally appropiate solutions to 
traffic congestion, and helped improve services for youth and seniors.

Working with our neighborhoods, we have substantially increased the 
city tax base by building new housing, bringing new stores to Hayward, 
and opening new businesses.

I have worked with the school district to build new schools and improve 
our educational programs.

My late father was the town marshal in our hometown. I learned from 
him that public servants can improve people’s lives and build a better future. 
My dad taught me that quality public service requires serving people
with honesty, integrity and hard work.

I have worked hard as your council person to uphold the values I was taught
as a child. With your help and continued support, I pledge to continue
to represent your interests as we work together to build a better future
for our great city.
